Daai Jam respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who we are

Daai Jam is a small handmade food business based in Somerset West, Western Cape. Our Information Officer is Jolese, reachable at daaijam.sa@gmail.com or WhatsApp 064 551 0963.

What we collect

• Your name, contact number and email address.
• Your delivery address, when you choose delivery or courier.
• Your order details (what you bought and your delivery choice).

We do not collect or store your card details. All card payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Yoco — your card information goes straight to them, never to us.

Why we use it

• To process, prepare and deliver your order.
• To contact you about your order (confirmation, delivery, or a query).
• To keep a record of orders for our own accounting.

We only use your information for the reasons above. We don't send marketing unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share only what's necessary, only with:

• Yoco — to process your payment securely.
• Our delivery/courier partner — your name and address, so your order can reach you.

We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How we keep it safe & how long

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we keep it only for as long as we need it — to fulfil your order and meet our record-keeping obligations — after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update it.
• Ask us to delete it, where we're not required to keep it.
• Object to how we use it.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

Cookies & the website

Our website keeps things simple. It uses only what's needed to run your basket while you shop (stored in your own browser) — we don't use tracking or advertising cookies. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy.
